Good Luck on finding that. There where not many round to fit the new performance super major. you have to be careful if you do find a unit as the gearing is different to the one that fits the major,Power major, and the ordinary super major. they all had 750 RPM pto the NPSM has 540.

How do I know if I have a Ordinary Super Major or New Performance Super Major.

I have a 1963 Super Major, and assumed it was 540 PTO, as have been buying a whole lot of PTO implements for it.

Hi you could have either tractor on a 63 as that was the change over year( give us a s/n and I could check for you. The difference in pto speed comes with motor revs on the early Super/Majors 540 pto speed comes at around 1200 rpm and i think it is 1600 rpm on the later ones.
on the old one she is not much over idle for 540.
540 stuff still works I used an old major on our mower for years until i swapped over to a new super just don't rev it flat out!or clock it with a tach on the shaft to find throttle pos if the tacks not working.
all the lower revs do is affect power and forward speed ratios.

Hi Robert:

Thank you very much for the reply

I know where to find the Engine Ser #, is that what you would need.

Not sure where to find any other ser #'s

Will post Ser # tomorrow.

Thank you

Appreciate your help.

Hi Kenneth
It looks like your tractor should have the 540 pto,
the change came in july 63 and it looks like yours is in the first month of production for the new Performance Tractors from your sn.
