Hi My dad farmed with them in the day. The ones with the dual clutch (Live PTO) are more desirable if you want to use it. power steering is an option. Dads never had it with loaders on and none of mine do, I never find it heavy to steer if its all in good order and greased dad said the same, Power steering has spoiled most young guys LOL, Supers have position /Draft control hydraulics and diff lock so that's also a plus. some parts are available from ford still but are expensive. There are a lot of repro parts around the world, And also a lot of used stuff to. I have 9 of them here in my collection and use some of them for grass cutting in the yard and fields with no problems. Over all for it's age its still a good tractor. As With most Tractors there are things To watch for like water in the oil and the general stuff that applies to all makes. I have a customer that has a green and yellow tractor with problems galore, his repair bill on it is gonna be huge. I told him a Fordson could be totally re built for less than repairing his and he would still be in pocket with it by $3000 with the cost of green parts he needs, 4 parts can cost as much as a whole major. If ya have any more questions please ask. Regards Robert |
