--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I spent some time working on my dexta today and found that several things are different than the books tell me.

I found that the Fuel Pump is the incorrect one, (no primer lever) and the air filter has no innards. I already know that the fuel filter is no filter and missing all the guts.

Now I think that the hydraulics are also messed with. I the photo I uploaded, there is a Hydraulic line that has been run from two places on the top of the hydraulic cover. What's that all about? Anyone have an idea? It dosn't appear to do anything except run from one place to another on the top of the cover. The hydraulics do work, the lift works and dosn't lose lift except after the engine is shut down.

Help?

Caveat Emptor seems to fit here. Similar to not painting the top of the architrave above a door. It's what you can get away with.

I"m nor complaining aboiut the tractor, I mean it"s an OLD farm tractor that probably in it"s lifetime did good duty until they guy I got it from mistreated it and whipped it to death.

I"m trying to determin if I can get it running as well as possible.

Today I got it started WITHOUT ether - WAHOO!!!!.

I then let it cool down and did it again.

I have determined that I need to replace the Atomizer and the pre-heater button switch.

The preheater button dosn"t allow enough current to heat up the glowplug and the atomizer won"t allow enough fuel to do the trick. I also need to pull the air intake and make a bushing for the atomizer as it was cross-threaded.

Seems like I have enough compression to start and go with.

Feeling less frustrated.

Can't help with the Dexta but I do have a Super Major that has hydraulics that are not shown in book so I can understand your angst, at least you are progressing which is only good.
