Major Injection pump

I have a line on a Fordson Major. I think it"s a fairly early one. How hard (and expensive) is it to get a used or rebuilt injector pump? Thanks for any help. I"m new to Fordsons.
 
i took 2 pumps and made one, i didn't have any way to calabrate it. when i got tractor running i ajust the fuel delivery till each exhust sound was the same noise, i have been a tractor mechanic for along time, it was easy for me but with a little help you can rebulid your own pump and do just fine, i have a local salvage yard where i got my pump for rebuilding.the way i saw my pump was, it didn't run very well so what have i got to loose if i mess up the pump, i broke one peace learning how it came apart. your local pump shop should be able to give you some pointers on how it works. my fordson starts and runs the best and i would do it all over again if i needed to, good luck and i might be able to help you if you needed, i don't eveything about those pumps but they are simple
 
Hi Karl, Agriline offer a reconditioning service for your injection pump for £350. I think that is 'worse case senerio' and would think any agriculural machinery dealer could offer the same service or better still find a diesel injection specialist local to you-good luck!
 
Thanks, guys. That info is very helpful. I have rebuilt engines and automatic transmissions, so it sounds like maybe I could do this, too. I may be calling for more help soon.
 
Hi theres a recon??? pump on ebay at the mo £285 thats Prox $420. But remember they are not all the same even if they are off Fordsons. You will need to check all the numbers on yours and match them or you will(might) need to change the engine timing.

Karl I had a ferguson basket case pump that no none wanted to touch because of its age and got lucky and found a guy that rebuilds old pumps. Contact [email protected] he did me an excellent job on a complete rebuild at a very reasonable price. The ferguson is purring like a kitten
