So the coils,etc, will operate off AC (mag) or DC (battery) equally well?

| | Yes, pretty much. Just not at the same time. My '23 F actually runs a little better on the mag putting out 10 to 13 volts A/C than the 6-volt battery that it starts with. As an aside, if you want to see something unusual and have access to one, hook an oscilloscope up to it. Henry put the 'form' in waveform.

| Thanks for the information. Now a question about my 14 Ford T (same system). It will no longer run on the mag. Any problem with running it continuously on the small 12 v battery I use to start it?

| No problem. Just disconnect the flywheel magneto lead so there's no additional drain from the coil assembly.
