The original subject was "Re: 3 point hitch will not work".
Ok, it"s been a while. Ford Dexta. Changed fluid, changed return filter, cleaned metal screen filter attached to pump....3 point lift still will not work. Pulled pump and the gears seem fine. To the eye all seems ok except all the seals are flat. Not sure if this is it or not?? Any ideas???

| With a couple extra fittings you could mount a pressure guage.

| Update: Started all over. Drained, removed cover, removed pump, took everything apart and checked again. Reinstalled all, added oil, started tractor and lift slowly began to come up. Ran through a few cycles and now works like a charm?????? Not sure what it was but it works great. Thanks to everyone for your ideas and help.

| Have you checked the unloading valve and the control valve? Do you have the manual to aid in troubleshooting?

| | Never worked on a Dexta Hyd pump. But have worked on MF 135 ones. It would seem to me if seals are flat they should be replaced as they should have a bit of a round to them. Also have you tried turning it in a bath of oil to see if it is pumpinmg at all. With some ingenuity can hook it up to a drill with a belt to turn it to see if pumping, which wil confirm if seals are bad. Kenneth Armour
