Fordson F Running Miserable

I've got a Fordson F with a British Fordson model N carb. Been running great for years. Let it set for a while and gas turned bad. Flushed out the old stuff and now have fresh gas, new plugs and coils reset. Miserable starting, requires 15 plus cranks vs. 2 or 3 and runs rough. Carb is cold to the touch, sweating and cool to the tough.- while engine is up to temp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, youve got a fordson and it takes some major cranking to get it to run....So..what exactly is the problem here?? Seriously, if it ran good before the gas went crappers and now it doesnt, it was probably the gas, and it more than likely it has gummed up your carburettor. Clean it out top to bottom and make sure your shut-off valve and fuel line flow as they should too.
If it has been sitting a good long time do a compression cheque as well. A small skim of rust on a few valve seats that were up during storage allowing moisture to collect and rust the seats can wreak havoc on a fordson's compression and start-ability!

Sounds like water/bad gas has settled in the carb. Drain out at the bottom of the carb. If you can get a pint of flow in 2-4 minutes out of the bottom of the carb, then you know you have no problem from the tank to the carb. If not, then start with screen in the elbow at the carb and work back twords the tank until you get good flow. If that don't fix it - Put some Seafoam in it and put it to work, long and hard. If you still have problems, you will need to take the carb apart and give it a good cleaning.
