Fordson identification

I have either a 1939 or 1940 Fordson. I can"t locate the model or serial. It does not seem to be on the sides of the motor. Any suggestions?

It should be an English Model N. The original color should be a golden yellow. Engine air intake should be through a vertical pipe and through an oil-bath aircleaner. Older models drew it in through a hollow steering column and a waterwash aircleaner. In 1938 they started with "High Compression" on the cylinder head. If there is no serial number in the usual place, it has a replacement engine block. Factory engines were available up to about 1955.
After the war hit England, they changed color to green. I don't think any were exported. When the war was over they went back to blue with orange wheels. Perhaps a few came to Canada, but mostly they were replaced by the E27N, a rowcrop model.
