rear axel large bearing SM'64

Hi all,

May have to reuse my old bearings unless any of you have a source for replacement. No flaking on mine just some black water spots on race and rollers totaling about 2 inches in length. I lightly sanded some of the marks off with 600 keeping the whole 360 degree circle in mind for eveness. I called a bearing company with the numbers and they said the numbers are unrecognizable to them and their system. Also I read in a post one guy swaped his bull gears side to side so the teeth could ware in the opposite direction. Maybe swaping the smaller drive gears is a good idea also? Any thoughts since I have the tractor apart? Thanks in advance Kerry

I just put in search engine'roller bearing companies usa" and got a number of hits, I didn't go any further but their site may list suppliers.

Thanks I did the same and found a company in San Clemete California called Impact Bearing. They asked for dimensions to either match, or make it. Sure do not know why Agriline doesn't offer it, they offer all the other ones for front wheels, spindle, and rear axle outside. Must not be a great need. Regards Kerry

Try Southern Counties Tractor Spares in the south of England. They have never let me down for bearings and as far as I know they still ship world wide. Phone (Country code) 1243512109.
Email www.southerntractorspares.co.uk Hope you get what you need. failing that come back and we try again. MTF

Hi Again. Do your bearings have any No' or codes on them, If so maybe you would care to post them and I'll check it out this side of the pond for you. I've got a man who is really good with old bearings. I assume its the bearings on the inside of the rear wheel drive shafts???? MTF

I replaced mine when I restored my KFD Orchard Major. My local NH dealer in England cross referenced them from the original Fordson parts book to the current NH part number. They came within a week of ordering.

If you get stuck, email me and I will look for the invoice for the part numbers for you.

BTW - they are big and not easy to remove. Those half shafts weigh a ton!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for checking, I have already checked Cotsworld in England and they want 148.00 british pound for one bearing, that would come out to over $400.00 American for the set, I won't pay that much for bearings unless mine are trash and they are not. Since I first posted this I contacted a bearing company in Sourthern California that says they can match it. I am taking dimensions and sending them off to see.
I will e-mail you if they come up short. Thanks much Kerry

Hi Bendee,

Sort of in limbo on the bearings as I have been tracing down new clutch springs/pins, valve collets or split washers and had my clutch disks re-lined with the good old stock re-line material.F Y I, Fort Wayne Clutch redid my disks for $75.00 each which is about the same as new from agriline but with the older slightly softer and maybe not as suseptable to heat material. They even had all new clutch spring retainer pins they sold me, but it was the last of them. On another subject would you know how to get the darn lift arms off? Can I just pound on one end of the shaft without damage to any rings, stops, keyways, or pins? They seem to be frozen on the spline! No I cannot fit a wedge in the space between the arms and top cover. its too tight. Thanks Kerry
