Hydro control lever/help

Hi all, I cannot get the hydralic control shaft pulled out from the bushing/tube in the top cover of my '64 super major due to rust. The bushing rotates with the shaft. My only solution seems to be to cut and reweld the shaft unless one of you knowledgeable fellows knows a trick to freeing up the two rusty pieces. I cannot get any liqued wrench between the two due to no access except a bit of the bushing is exposed inside the top cover. Thanks for any help in advance. Kerry Borsch

is there anyway you can get an air hammar to the problem parts? I use an air hammar all the time to loosen things up, the vibration is what does the trick. use a hammar that has speed control so you won't get cared away and beat things up.

Hy Lonzo, good idea, I wish I had seen your post before I cut it out with a sazall.I did find a 5/8" X 10" bolt that I ground and tapped on one side and had a welder weld the other side to the offset arm post that holds the acuating arm inside the cover. All I have need of now is the sleeve that goes around it, and funny enough New Holland has one, although the welder said he could make a new one. I will remember your idea, it is a good one. Thanks Kerry

Thanks Dave,

I have spent time reviewing all the great knowlege in the posts. I think it will save me from a re-tear down when I fianlly get this old hunk of metal ready to start. I came across that beautiful roadless with the front end loader, and the Perkins 6 installation. Saw some of your comments intersperced around also. Seems if I look long enough I will find an answer to my questions. Thanks man! Kerry (oregon'64SM)
