I bet a pump off of an old 1950's or 1960's car would work. or a power steering pump off of a truck. Look at the Ford line of older vehicles and compare. Some of those older pumps were very similar to the one on the majors. I have a local junkyard not far from here with an old school bus that is loaded with them. Dandy Dave!

My FSM has been retrofitted with power steering. The pump, according to the parts store that replaced it, is standard-issue GM car or truck.

I just did a conversion on my David Brown. I used a KRC power steering pump. If you have the room, get one with a built-in reservoir. I did not have the room for that. The KRC pump is very small and you can vary the output. Mine hardly works at all, even with a bucket full of dirt.

look for one from a reman outfit called cardone they make a brand new unit for the 60s thunderbirds witch is the exact same pumps that ford used on the 600/800 and 2000/4000 tractors of the 50s & 60s and comes with pully too this is about the same if not the same pump that the major used i think the orig pumps were made by Eaton
