New member introduction and first Question

My name is Richard Chase, I am in southern Maine, I am new to this forum and to tractors, the 1959 Fordson Power Major I just purchased is not new to this forum it is the tractor kennebunksawmill has been asking questions about for the last month or so. I’m sure I will be asking many questions but my first is where do people buy their parts? I need to get a couple push rods as 2 of mine are bent.

Thanks,
Richard

That is why I love those old tractors.

So easy to fix.

Never had to straighten push rods on my FSM but like Mike F said does work.

I have done it on a MF178 AD4.248 Perkins Diesel and it worked with no problems.

That is the beauty of these tractors they were built rugged and simple so you could fix them in the field.

I already straightened them and they are working but I wasn't that happy with how straight they ended up and would like to replace them with new or good used ones if I can find them.

Check EBay (UK)

You will find lots of sellers selling FM parts

Otherwise someone else here may be able to give you a contact source.

Does anyone know the length of the pushrods for a 59 Power Major Diesel? I may have found a set but need to verify the length and would rather not have to pull one of mine to measure it if I don't have to.

Thank.
Richard
