help,does anyone know where i can get a tool,{or information or drawing to make one,) for setting up the clutches correctly on a dual clutch super major..thanks alan

I'm about to undertake a clutch replacement on my Fordson Super Major. You must be talking about setting up the clutch pack itself. It is some type of assembly I am told. Did you obtain the parts needed to rebuild it separately? A local company, Fort Wayne Clutch specializes in driveline parts and some parts for really odd applications like forklifts, heavy equipment, etc. I stopped by there the other day and asked them about a replacement clutch for my Super and they told me that they do it on an exchange basis and they had replacements in stock. I know some tractor scrappers who sell clutches in bulk to that company. I think they want $430 for a complete assembly. However I did some work on that tractor and now I'm not sure it has a two stage clutch? Is it possible to replace a single clutch with a two stage setup. I have a bucket loader on this tractor so it would really be nice to keep the hydraulics alive when the clutch is pushed in.

hi dave, i am in uk,the cost of a replacement assy is about £600 sterling,i am going to recon my own.
you can not replace a single clutch with adouble,without changing tour gearbox also,hope this was helpful
