Don't use hydraulic oil.The same type of oil as in the engine but [in my case it would be sae 140] but others would say to use the same as in gearbox, about 90.because of the cold. wait for a few posts but don't use hydro oil. I use 20w40 90 and 140 but I don't have any of the white stuff.

Sorry..Only giving half a reply.. the quantities are
Final drive.. 10.8 US Gallons.
Transmission. 5.4 " "

I use 80W90 gear oil in the transmission and tractor oil in the differential & hydraulics. Works well for me, with no issues.
If your tractor has a common sump, use a universal tractor oil, or a Ford oil.

Hi:

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, can get quite cold up here

Own 1963 FSM, I use 20w 40 diesel engine oil in the engine.

I use straight 30 oil in the gearbox and diff, these tractors do not have a common sump like the Massey Fergusons. Diff and gearbox are separate compartments.

I have a front and back blade on my FSM and I have never had a problem with the hydraulics, no matter how cold it gets.

My tractor is garaged all the time. Garage is not heated, but keeps it out of the weather

Hope this helps

Kenneth
