anybody have a way to start a 54 that is kept in a unheated garage? there is no water jackets for a frost plug heater, and a hose heater causes air pockets. is there a 12-volt conversion kit for this? any help would be appreciated. thanks

We had 56 model. Used either at about 20 degrees and up and used a different tractor when colder then that. I've used the in the radiator hose heaters in several tractors and had good luck with them. Just brought one for a massey 231 which I haven't installed yet.

Send me an eMail, and I will send you some pictures and explain how to hook up your Block Heater, and I will show you in the Pictures what type to use. Right now I can't remember how I hooked up mine. I have to go and look for myself to see what Side I installed it, or where to root the return line for the Heater. I don't know how to post pictures to this website yet, but I do know how to eMail them. Bruce.

I have noticed over the years of being around diesel that using ether that they become addicted to it. I've found with my Major that a gas rag over the intake for the air cleaner works better. Just pour some gas on a rag and cover where the air inlet is, but pull away when it starts because it will run very rich.
