i have a 50's power major and an earlier major diesel i bought for parts from texas. i just got the power major to start with the lever instead of pulling the tractor and i need to know what types of oils yo use in the hydraulic and transmission cavities. i have read several forums and have seen different recommendations. i live in canada and plan to use it to run a big snow blower. the tractor runs great and i don't want to damage it by the improper lubricants thanks

I would use 15W-40 in the engine, transmission and differential/hydraulics. Some manuals say to use 90W in the trans. and diff., and some say engine oil, but I don't think that the hydraulics would work too well with 90W in the winter in Canada.
