Im just looking for some info on how to identify these tractors and where to look on them for the year and model number ect. reason being is i have 2 old fordson tractors in my garage one being a fordson major and the other im not to sure about. the second one has metal wheels that is the only major diffrence i can see. and help would be appreciated THX.

Here's a couple of pictures I found on this site. Do your tractors look like one of these? The first one is a New Major and the second is an E27N Major.

The engine No is stamped or etched into a machined plate just below the Cylinder head at the very front of the engine. If its a FSM Diesel it will also have the No on the firewall between the engine and the fuel tank. If its an E27N it will have the clutch pedal on the right hand side and the 'tractor'No running vertically on the clutch housing along with other info. Publish the no's you find and we'll tell the year etc. Its more than possible that the wheels are the only difference. To my knowledge Fordson made 'iron' wheels for all its models up to the Power Major.Luck MTF
