My 52 major(gas) is running a bit rough, and I need to find a carb kit, or a replacement carb. The local New Holland dealer thinks he may be able to help if I can get him a little more info. All I know is that it is a Zenith Carb no info or serial # to be found. Doug Smith

Hi,

I am having the very same problem with my 52 FM. What does your carb look like? Mine has a two bulb float which is different than the one pictured in the shop manual. I suspect it to be a replacement carb.

Good luck with NH for a carb kit unless you are located in Europe.

I am in Canada and have looked for several years without success. Land Rover is a new lead which I will check.

A carb problem is sometimes hard to diagnose...

Is it flooding/black smoke? float needle, hole in float

Backfiring under load...Most likely lean?
air leak, plugged filter in tank, bad lift pump

This assumes nothing else has changed

Regards
