All,
I am rebuilding my engine in the power major.
It would be helpful to know who made the engine.
I have been told that the engine was made by Perkins and also by Conntental.
Does any body know who made the engine?
Where do I get the kit?

Thanks

ORiley

Try Oscars Fordson web site for more information. The motors were not built by Perkins or Continental. You will find that Perkins only applies to the Dexta. There is a kit on this web site under engine kits.I have only bought valve parts here(no problems). So maybe someone else can voice their opinion about the engine parts and getting the correct sizes for the various three models of Majors.

Try decoding the serial number and casting numbers on the block. One thing I found was that even though it might be a Major engine, someone might have turned it into a Power-Super Major. You can do that too, if you have the cam, pushrods, and lifter assembly. The sleeves will have no sealing ridge if it is a Major, ridge on the later two.The point here is you might have to tear it down to find out which one it is.I have not done the "upgrade" to mine and probably would not advise it, except maybe to use the later sleeves, unless you really needed a few horsepower more.

Hope this helps.
