860 oil pan holes have flanges that are too thick.

I am working on sealing up oil leaks on an 860 i picked up. The pan gasket leaked and I think I see the main reason. The pic shows the Flange that is on the engine side. I believe there might have been flanges but these stand so proud that they will prohibit the gasket from compressing,. Is this normal???
The previous owner tried red goo between the gasket and the pan which didnt work.

What would some of you pros do??

Someone on the past has obviously severely overtighted the bolts, and deformed the pan and the little "sleeve protrusions" that are supposed to prevent squashing the gasket.

Hard flat surface and a ball peen hammer. That surface should be flat. Don't over-tighten the screws like the last guy did.
