Ford 53 golden jubilee odd paint job

I have a 1953ford golden jubilee that has a blue and white paint job now I have not found any gray or red paint on it so if it wasn't original then the really good job of sanding and the paint is starting to fall off I was wondering if anyone had any idea y I might have been painted that way.

No chance it was blue/white from factory, had to have been a good prep and re-paint.

Is there any primer under the paint that's falling off? If not then it sounds like a good job of sanding and a poor job of painting.

Ford did offer to paint your old red tractors blue for a fee once the '63 thousand series came out in blue, but they wouldn't have sanded it down to bare metal.

Modernizing the old "red bellies" by painting them blue and white was very common. Yours apparently got a better prep than most.
