Ford 601 transmission hydraulic lines replacement help

So I have a hole on the high side of the hydraulic line in the bell housing area and I have found the replacement lines (both high and low)
and plan to pull the transmission and put it on the work bench and replace the lines. Has anyone done this and if so how is the best way to
go about replacing them. It looks like they are pressed into/through the transmission.

I have already split the tractor in the front (had to just to find the leak) and I am assuming I have to split it in the back and remove the
transmission to replace the lines. I really would like to know the best process for removal/installation of the lines.

If anyone has any advice or has done these before I'd really appreciate any information you can tell me as this is the first time I have had
to do it.

There's really no need to remove your transmission or even split your tractor to do this job.

Beyond that, if you do a search here there are several threads about how to proceed. I've never personally had to do one.

I know you can get them out with out a split I ended up having to repair the trans so replaced them while I had the transmission out. I do not know of a source for new tubes ready to be installed.

thank you, i did find that post earlier after using better search terms. This site has the two lines listed at the bottom of the page and where i was
planning on ordering them from.

Well the process provided with the threaded rod isnt working for me, it keeps breaking off. So mine was leaking just inside the bell housing when i
first started. Do you think its possible for me to cut it back a little farther within the bell-housing area where the pipe is good and splice an new
piece in? if not then i can only assume im going to end up having to pull the transmission and fight the pipe out

That looks BAD... Rust  I would give it one more shot were it goes in the trans if a no go remove the trans you are about there...

If its that bad inside the trans you have your work cut out for ya...

can you clarify what you mean by stepped up. I assume you mean that the portions in the transmission and bell-housing where turned down a
smig just to make it easier to press in?

I didnt notice really any difference on my tube on the portions that went through the transmission and the part inside the transmission. It
felt to be pretty dang close to the same size.

I don't have the measurements photobucket took them away :(
from rear to front it should step up at each point were it goes into the case... Between the front of the trans and the rear I think there is a step in the center of the trans I am gonna guess it has 4 steps. John Smith may know are someone else I lost the info....

Front to back the tube gets smaller if it did not it would be ell to drive a new one in... Front of the bell housing is the largest then steps down were it fits into the actual transmission front behind the clutch area then steps down again in the center of the trans and again at the rear.

Once the tube is feed you will have about 2" to actually drive home hope that makes sense...

Example

lets use a 1" (1.000 tube)

the rear is .990 it has to be turned down about a foot to the center the center is .993

it has to be turned down to the front of the trans the front is .996

From the front of the trans to the front of the bell is 1" (1.000)

Get a mic and check it

Thank you that makes sense, hopefully i can get the measurements off the old pipe at least the two points (the rear end and trans) are still
in good shape on mine.

FYI - here is the line already machined per the email they sent me.

That one is for a 4 speed trans only, It is machined in our machine shop. smaller on one end with step in the middle.

I wanted to report back and let you know that the line i ordered from the site i posted earlier was an exact fit. It came pre-cut and tapered as needed to fit with no leaks.

Hello ... just found your post from awhile back and was wondering if you could let me know how to remove the oil line from the front of the tractor.
I have a 1955 Ford 600
