Left axle leak

Restoring a Ford 600. Left side under brake drum looks like a greasy mess. Assume axle seal has leaked. I need to check service manual but I?m not sure if a huge job? I have apart now to paint so maybe time to fix or maybe a winter project???

It's an impossible job without the right puller and/or a torch. Suggest studying the manual before you get started.

It is a tough job. Big metal collar has to be drilled and busted off. The bearings pressed off. Have to heat new collar to get it on and if you don't get it all the way on before it cools.............. I had to get help with ours. Lucky I know a guy! Then shims have to be right. I hope I never have to do another one. If you are anywhere near Central AL I can get you in touch with my friend.
