Stupid 960 issue

I forgot about this issue. While I was cleaning years worth of nasty oil out of the system I stuck the little red straw on the brake cleaner in one of the hose fitting holes on front of cylinder and lost the straw in there. What damage will it do? How can I get it out? Hanging my head in embarrassment..............

Tip it upside down, shake vigorously and pray. Do not cuss. ;)
I wish I had a better idea, but other than disassembling it, I do not.
If you have a 90 degree elbow, you might try removing that first.
If you can see the straw, maybe mechanical fingers.

Turned it up and shook it , alot!
Nothing. Shot some air in other
hole. Nothing. Moved cylinder in
and out, can't see it. Will it hurt
anything to leave it?

"Will it hurt anything to leave it?"

I wish I knew the absolute answer to that question, but I don't.
Are you sure it's actually in there?

Not 100% sure but we couldn't find
it on the ground. Gravel floor in
the lean-to. Couple feet over to
grass/weeds. I dunno it could have
shot off that far. I took belt off
pump until I fix power steering
,but the cylinder still moves when
I drive it. Uggggggggggghgh.

How long was the straw and how deep is the hole that you stuck it in? Seems to me that most straws for spray brake cleaner that I've seen are at least 4" long, so unless that cylinder body is more than 4" across, I don't see how you could have lost it in there.

On the front of the cylinder there
are 2 small holes, shoot air in
one cylinder expands, other one it
contracts. Cylinder was full
extended when the straw went
missing. Maybe 16 inches deep?

Took while thinking about. 1 hole goes to outside of inside tube that feeds front of cyl other 1 goes directly into cyl. If went in first senero I see no problem. The other one will smash it up in cyl.

(quoted from post at 22:10:59 09/09/18) When blowing air into the other hole will it come out the hole with the straw? If so try that.

It better not! If so he steering cylinder has internal problems.
