4500 Backhoe value

As many of you know I am not into the 3 cyl square nose stuff. A friend on mine has 4500 loader backhoe. The engine is locked up from sitting. He would like to sell it and see somebody use the parts
instead of sending off to the scrap yard. It's diesel. Any idea on the value?

Not running, it's really only worth scrap price whole. He could probably make more by parting it out himself but that would take more time and effort. If he could get it running then it would bring a minimum of $4000.00 here in southeast PA, probably more depending on how everything works and what kind of leaks there are.
 
Depends on what else is wrong with it, I paid $1400 for my 1971 4500 with a rod knock, with a transmission problem, a bunch of leaky hoses, and some cylinders that need repacking.
 
I sold a good running 4500 Backhoe earlier this summer, I put two brand new tires on the rear just to sell it for $4500, mine needed several hoses replaced but I was through with it and actually made $400 to the good after I sold it, had bought it three years earlier to build a boat ramp, would like to have another smaller back hoe like a terramite one day

Is that a flip up type seat on that tractor? If he is going to part it out I might be interested in it.
