Hi all : am ordering a new gas tank for my 63 2000 today and while I await the shipment from yt I want to do some mech work while the tank is removed because it makes it soooo much easy do to the loader being in the way for head bumping etc. Something in the order of an IV bag set up with fuel to the carb so I can run the engine for the things I want to do while the the tank is in transit??? Any Ideas ???

When we did the valves on the 8n, I found a fuel tank from a snowblower a board. I tied the board to the radiator and the steering wheel, then tied the fuel tank to the board. I went to advanced and got break line and attached the break line to the carb. In the end the tractor ran and saved us from finding a problem then having to take the hood off again.

Local dealer had the bottom half of a coffee can (or maybe something a little smaller?) with a short length of brake line brazed to
the bottom of it. When the tank and hood were off a tractor he was working on, he'd attach this temp tank to the elbow on the carb
and put a cup or so of gas in it for test running.

I like using a 2-liter coke bottle. I drill a 1/4 hole in the lid, insert a 1/4 inch by 3 ft. long hard plastic hose thru the hole which will
fit snug and connect the hose to the carb with a short rubber hose. Fill the bottle with gas, squeeze the bottle to prime the carb and it
starts the gas to siphoning, then tie the bottle to the dash or steering wheel with a piece of wire. Works good for me. If the bottle sucks in enough to prevent gas flow just loosen the lid a little.

I borrowed the gas tank from my edger. Handy that it attached from the top. Bent up a wire mount and Viola! Even has a fuel shut off on the bottom.

I use lawnmower tanks for temp tanks. I have this one on the 8n to check one arm loader operation before paint. tin was off for repaint. I put a inline shut off. Just keep the rubber hose away form the
exhaust manifold.

Garden sprayer.

Remove the nozzle and clamp the hose to the fuel line.

Bunge the sprayer to the foot board.

Pour in a quart or so of gas.

Pump the handle 3 or 4 times and go.

Here's another idea. 1 1/2 by 12 pipe nipple and fittings.
Brass shut-off valve on the bottom.
The curly-Q bolt on the top hangs to where ever you like, or to the
eye bolt on the rectangular magnet next to it in the picture that is
holding it in it's storage spot. Rubber fuel line, 1/4 inch brake line.
