[b:fc3ae7ada4]This area of MT, has been infected with CNH pricing practices!
SO I'm forced to look at stuff I can afford.
Not a 'LOADER Tractor but, I found a supposed Ford 650 to look at this next Weds.
I need info, about finding the ser#....and location for #'s to look for, that will tell me MOD. and YR!!!
Owner says it needs the rear-rims changed, but will throw in the rims (at no extra $$'s) Tires are fairly used, but rears still have milage left on them!!!

It hurts to be poor!!!!!

Any thing to ID this 650 will be helpfull .....(If it IS a 650)...it does have the 5speed tranny. & owner swears it does not jump out of 3rd gear!! We'll see!!!???

TIA

Good luck with your quest. Model and serial are stamped on boss just above and to the rear of the starter.

[b:b79cc040ac]Decoding the 3 digit model numbers on Hundred series tractors[/b:b79cc040ac]

8** - Four wheel utility type with adjustable front axle, 172 CID gas or LP-gas engine
9** - High clearance row crop type, 172 CID gas or LP-gas engine

Second number
*2* - Four speed transmission, no PTO or 3 point lift
*3* - Four speed transmission, no PTO
*4* - Four speed transmission with PTO and 3 point lift
*5* - Five speed transmission with 3 point lift and non-live PTO
*6* - Five speed transmission with 3 point lift and live PTO

Third number
**0 - Hundred series, '55 - '57

[b:b79cc040ac]Serial Numbers[/b:b79cc040ac]
1954 Serial number 1 - 10614
1955 Serial number 10615 - 77270
1956 Serial number 77271 - 116367
1957 Serial number 116368 – up

On the flat on top the bell housing under the air cleaner and behind the starter will be hand stamped model and serial numbers. If the area is dirty or even thickly painted you'll need to clean it to see them. Some may be corroded away by battery acid, mostly on *01 and later 4 cylinder diesels.

Gary,
I know you like your 2N and it's been a
good workhorse for you all these years.
But having a few more ponies never hurts,
position control, a real drawbar and a
couple more gears are great and live
hydraulics is wonderful.
So I'm crossing my fingers for you here
that you get this tractor.

Thanks for all the info. Guys.
Now I can go look at this, armed with at least something to check out this beast.
Even at a price, I can afford.....(so far)....It will prob. cost a little more, than I wanted to shell out!!

I'll take some pix, while I'm there, and post them for you all to see!

For Jerry;
Thanks for your understanding reply!
Planning to keep the 2N, at least till I know I can get this this working, and doing what I need to get done.

Thanks to all, again!!!!! I'll be back with more later.

Not a bad deal from the looks sunbeam.
I wonder what the "smokes when warmed up" means.
I can't see well enough to see if it has the Perkins or the
Continental engine in it.
135 could have had power steering, may have with a loader.
Tires look decent, rear rim shows a little rust around the valve
stem so probably loaded, or were, with calcium chloride.
6 forward speeds and two reverse gears.
Not sure what he has going on with all the looped hydraulic hose.
