I can't tell you about the date of your pump, but I can tell you this: I've had many Fords roll into my shop over the years with no oil in
the PS pump, for various different reasons. In every case that I can recall, putting oil in them (and fixing the leaks) restored everything
back to working order. Those pumps don't like contamination, but I can't say that they seem to be hurt by running dry.
You don't have much to lose by putting oil in it and giving it a go.
