I have a 1965 Ford 5000 with a speedomatic transmission. It does not run and I want to load it up on a trailer. Can someone tell me if there is a way to disengage the transmission and any other details I may need to know? Thanks for your time

When the engine isn't running, the transmission goes into park, regardless of the position of the shifter... so it doesn't really matter what gear you have it in.

(quoted from post at 20:33:15 08/30/18) It helps if you jack up one rear wheel to relieve any pressure there may be on the coupling.

I stand on the right footrest and rock the right tire with my hands while moving the lever with one foot.

The other have answered your question, but just FYI - your transmission is a Select-O-Speed.
