I'm trying to pinpoint when Ford used this block letter font for their logo. Was it the 70's or 80's and/or only Industrial models?

This is on the right side of the transmission housing on Luke's '65 4000. There are similar ones on the '69 parts donor 5000 and '70 basketcase 5000. I'm sure I've seen FoMoCo on my '75 7000, but I didn't find it with a quick look. There's a Ford oval on its transmission case. The cabs cover most of the transmission on the 7600 ('77) and TW35 ('89). The parts I could see with casting numbers on the TW had the Ford oval. 4600 ('80)is at my Dad's right now, so I haven't checked it yet.

Yes, have seen others similar to yours. Research turned up the logo was used from 65 on here and there. The "C" in the serial number prefix code denotes manufactured in the 1960's. Thank you.

The "C" in the serial number prefix code denotes manufactured in the 1960's.

That's a casting code, not a serial number. The C indicates the '60's and the 5 in the second spot indicates the year within the decade ends in a 5, so the C5 at the beginning means that the casting was designed in 1965. But that just says when the casting was designed. That casting design could have been used up into and through the 1970's. My 1973 4000 has casting codes on various components beginning with at least 4 different year designators at the beginning of the casting codes: C5, C7, D0 & D1 that I can remember off the top of my head. There are separate date codes on most large cast components that will tell you when that individual part was cast, and on major components (trans, engine, axle, lift cover, etc.) there will be stamped date codes for when that component was assembled.
