location of sensor

Ford 8730 tractor with 18 & 9 power shift. Recently got fault codes "H3' and "H5" appearing on my transmission shift indicator. Looked up what I could find out about them and appears they indicate a fault with the ERPM solenoid (but why two codes for that?). Would like to see if there is a wiring issue before I replace the solenoid but none of the parts people can show me where the solenoid is located. I've checked the electrical and engine schematic drawings from Ford New Holland site but I cannot figure out where the solenoid is located. They show it on the side of the engine. Spoke with two Ford ag mechanics. One said if might be located at the back of the fuel pump another said it was located on lower chassis by the oil reservoir. Can anyone give me some direction for its location and can anyone offer a heads up about what these codes might mean. I am still operating the tractor. Have engine RPM and ground speed still indicating on electronic dash but shifting seems to be less smooth and clutch release is quite abrupt in higher rpm compared to before the fault indication.
 
I don't have my manual available to me from where I sit, so I'm going off of memory here...

ERPM stands for engine RPM. That should be a sensor, not a solenoid. I believe it to be reference #22 in the link below. Note that the parts diagram shows two #22 sensors - you want the front one. It would be screwed into the front case of the transmission, looking at the speed of the input drive gear.

The speed sensor for the dash is driven off of the back of the injection pump. This is a totally separate electrical system and is unrelated to the transmission.

Many thanks. I won't be able to get to the parts department for a couple of days. Is there any danger with continued use of the tractor to do light work (loading bales) with the sensor not working? I ask this because I can tell there is a change in the shifting; not as smooth and a bit delayed. Thanking you in advance for any additional help or advice.
 
If the problem was serious, the transmission controller would flat out refuse to let you go anywhere, so I think you're safe to continue to use it.

Don't assume that the sensor is the issue here. It could also be a rubbed wire, corrosion in a connector, etc.
