I just got a Ford tractor dont really know what I got, only that it is a Gas engine and it runs like a top. The man told me it was a 3000 so I'm trying to find out exactly what year, model etc. I have so that I can get decals and most importantly parts when needed. It is yellow, but painting it blue posted below are some pics.

Thanks Joe

Idk why the pics did not show up in the post but here is the info I have for it that is under the hood and on sid eof the engine block is the matching tractor #

tractor # C419672
Model # 1023C
Unit # 4D1 0B
Engine # 4B28A
Transmission # 4C08B
Rear Axle #4B01C
HyD. Pump #4C28 B
HyD Lift #4A27 B

I think you're missing the first digit of the model
number. A 3000's model number would begin with a
3 or C, depending on the year.
The unit number is a date code. Assuming it is a
3000, or at least in that age range, 4D10B would be
1974, April 10, second shift.

They may be too large, or possibly because you are new to
the forum. I think they require you to have a few posts first.

You need to have your pictures saved at one of the photo hosting sites, in jpg format, then copy the url link and insert into your post. These sites cannot afford the bandwidth to support the millions of pictures that get posted so you need a 3rd party host to link them to. You just can't try and insert pictures from your phone camera or PC.

Now, if you are new to Ford tractors, the first thing to do is get the essential manuals once you determine what you have. I don't understand how one can purchase a tractor (or anything for that matter) without knowing what they are getting. If it is painted yellow, it may be an Industrial Model, or one that was used my a city or state municipality.

tractor # C419672 is the serial number, and that is a 1974 serial number.

Since it is a 1974 tractor, the first character of the model number would be a letter, so if it is a 3000, it would be C1023C, which would be an ag chassis 3000 with a gas engine, live PTO and an 8 speed transmission.

All of the other numbers (engine, trans, rear axle, etc.) are just the date codes for when those components were assembled.

Also, this site requires you to have a minimum of 10 or so posts before it will let you upload pictures.

as far as me not knowing what im getting is I have never had a Ford tractor nor even heard of a gas 3000 tractor, every one I have ever saw had been a diesel. but it seems that I have came to the right place for the info. At least the man I got it from told me right and was honest about it being a 3000 I have always been around a JD 2040.

But yes tractor is factory yellow painting it blue and white as we speak.
