Ford 6 cyl. Diesel In A Barn

I looked at a Ford tractor in a barn a while back. It had the hood off
and some work was started and never finished. It had a 6 cyl. Diesel
in it. I did not know what model it was.
One thing I did notice that may be a clue as to what model it is was
the grab handles on the fenders to climb up to the drivers seat. They
looked like they were cast aluminum and almost like a hand with
knuckles grabbing back to your hand.
Does anyone know what model this blue and white Ford was?

Sounds like a 6000 to me. Here are the 3 different ones. Red was from 61-62 most got painted blue when they were recalled. Blue from late 62-64. And the commander was from 65-67 with the different front grill. With those hand grips it should be an early blue one or a repainted red one.

Are those tractors still good to work hard? Or are they wagon pullers? I’ve seen a few for sale and are just wondering.

Painted it back red. It does still have the single key rear axle and from what I have learned that meant it was updated by the dealer. I think it if went back to Ford it got the 2 key rear axle.

We use ours some but not as a daily tractor. They have good
power and the select o speed transmission is very handy but
parts are hard to find. Pretty well junkyard only for parts

The one that I was looking at had a lot of the sheet metal set aside. The last owner was working on it 20 years or more ago. He gone now and no telling what was wrong with it.
Is there a value to a tractor like this or just a parts tractor. I?m not sure what to offer. Any ideas?

Restored they are bringing pretty good money. Seen a red one sale for $12000. But of the 7 we have we haven?t paid more than $700 for any of them but they all needed work. If it has red under the blue it would make it a little more valuable.
