I can't tell for sure on the tranny either but picture 3 and 4 look
to have a clutch pedal. Wish it was close enough to just go look.

I know where there is an old Case tractor sitting with that exact blade mounted on front, been trying to catch the guy at home for about three years, would like to have the Case tractor with that blade and put it to work

I agree.
Probably a good thing it's not close to me... Ethan is just about the age Luke was when we bought his 4000... but I need another project (or expense) right now like I need a hole in the head.

(quoted from post at 20:30:44 08/11/18) 8x2 no question. No engine driven hyd pump, no inching pedal.
RickB, what about that tells you it couldn't be a 6x2?
I have a 6x2 but don't know enough to see what you're seeing.
Inching pedal on the SOS needs no explanation obviously.

I guess it could be a 6x2, but they were fairly rare on the 4000's. Most of the 6x2's were on 3000's and later 2000's, after they dropped the 4 speed as the economy transmission.

Thanks Sean. My experience stops at the 335 industrial I have, so if the 4000 mostly eliminated that option, that makes sense.

Never saw a 6x2 in a 3 cylinder 4000 or with IPTO.

It COULD be a 6 x 2 but it would be a rare bird indeed.
