I'm trying to determine the year of this Ford 5000 tractor. Which also has a enclosed cab.

The information stamped is as follows.

E1017C
3E2 * - not sure of first number
S/N - B924598*

It does not have an identificaton plate is there anywhere else I can look to determine the year?

E1017C
Does anyone know what the "7" stands for?
There's no 7 in my PTO type codes but this is the 3rd "7" I've see on a European model.

Do they use different code numbers on European models?

The 7 for the PTO code means 540 rpm independent PTO, same as a 4 as far as I have seen. I'm not sure why some of them had a 7 while most of them had a 4.

E1017C is a 5000 series ag chassis model with independent 540 rpm PTO and an 8 speed transmission.

3E2 is May 2, 1973 as has already been said.

B924598 is a Basildon "domestic" serial number. Anything above B800000 was for domestic, meaning to be sold into the UK market. I guess they expected to sell more from Basildon as exports so they started the export serial numbers at B000001 and the domestics at B800001. They didn't run separate serial number ranges for domestic vs. export at the other plants as far as I am aware.

Those other raised numbers are casting numbers and just tell about the design of the casting for the individual part.
