4000 3 cyl diesel with Cav 3233f390 pump

We have been trying to stop fuel leaks on this tractor for years. Very difficult to find source. We have replaced some fuel lines, banjo s, compression washers, etc. I think our leaks are just getting worse! I would appreciate some advice. We have considered replacing the pump, but that seems extreme. The tractor runs fine. Just leaks more than it burns.

Thanks for your response. We are in a small Wyoming town, and last time I checked on a rebuild it was around $600.oo. I couldn't find a pump on Yesterday's Tractor, but my neighbor found a new one for around $500.00. I'll shop around for a rebuild again. In either a new or a rebuild case, what steps must be taken to keep the proper timing for the pump?
 
That's one of the easier pumps to remove and replace. Just make a note of where the pump ear scribe line is in relation to the timing gear case marks. Remove the gear cover, and three bolts in the gear that thread into the pump drive hub. There's a locating pin in the gear that enters a notch cut into the drive hub for correct timing. Remove the lines and other hardware holding the pump, then it will pull away from the cover.
 
THATS the problem w/ those pumps.. you block/patch one leak & others appear..
Its BEST to get it ALL DONE at once..
The removal is painless..
Small cover infront of the pump.. 3 bolts under it..
3 more bolts holding the pump to the block, a couple of lines & off she comes..
Theres a timing line on the corner of the mounting flange.
IT lines up w/ some degree marks on the engine block.. MAKE NOTE of which mark its on..Prob. "0"..
That's where its supposed to be anyway.. AT or real close to "0"..
Good luck w/ the repair.. Theres afew of us on here that do it for a living..
 
Probably leaking around the o-ring that seals the head to the body, been having to do those lately. It looks like a injector line fitting on the pump head is leaking, but its that o-ring that's seeping.
 
Unless you really know what you are doing send it to Dieseltech, or thepumpguysc. I only reseal pumps that comes into my brother little shop that does all kinds of repairs.
