Ford 801/4000 diesel Cylinder head rebuild cost

Bought a 1964 ford 4000 that was sitting over the winter and mice got into the exhaust and their "leftovers" got into the #4 cylinder and built up to half and inch. (talk about stink!) The guy went to start it and it "hydrolocked" so to speak. So I bought it as is. I took the head off, and got it cleaned up and everything looks good. Hour meter says 2400 hours and I'm thinking I should get the head gone over at a shop. Was wondering what a fair price for this would be, if i don't need any parts?

Also the one injector tube nut is completely rounded. (once again, someone previous). Can you buy just the connecting tubes? I think I am going to have a shop go over the injectors too.

Ford (CNH) still shows the tubes to be available. Pricey little things though.

As to your head, I'd just clean it up and reinstall it with a new head gasket . . . unless it contains stuck valves. After you get it reassembled, run the engine a bit. That'll take care of the critter stink in a big hurry.

Where did you see the tubes

New Holland parts site shows the following part numbers for the injector lines (with partspring's prices):

#1 - C0NN9A555E ($113.00)
#2 - C0NN9A556E ($80.00)
#3 - C0NN9A557E ($106.49)
#4 - C0NN9A558E ($51.75)

Partspring.com shows having some each of #1, #2 & #4 in stock, but they claim that #3 is no longer available.

Thank you but I meant the tubes that those lines connect to. (from the side of the head to the injector) I imagine I have to buy a complete injector

If this helps any I just had the head redone on my 801 diesel. Ran $250 with nothing major needed. I know an injector job would cost another $250 with
replacement injectors.
