Clarification on FO-20 Lift Cover Alternate Adjustment

Hello,

Pretty new to the Fords and I am about to do the alternate adjustments for the lift cover in the FO-20 manual. This is for my 800.

I need a clarification please. On page 125 in the middle column, the manual says:
"Move the lift arms back from the extreme lower position approximately 1/2" when measured at the pin hole in the lift arm"

Are they measuring at the pin hole that goes through the "lift ram arm", part 80 on page 129? Or are they measuring at the hole in the end of the "lift shaft arm", part 82 on page 129?

This is one thing I don't want to get wrong, since it is the first thing in a series of adjustments.

Help is appreciated!

I think this is how I got the needed measurement. May not be right, but it worked for me.
I used half inch all thread.

It's easy with good instructions.
And good knowledge.

Thanks,
I may use a rod as a spot to measure the half inch from.

I think i'll get it done with the manual now. They just weren't specific enough on the name of the parts for my addled brain. LOL

Well it's not back together yet, but I got the adjustments done.
I put a rod in the arms and measured over from it to a spot on my draft spring and made a mark on it. Then I used that mark to decrease that measurement by the 1/2" in the book.

To make the "alternate adjustments", I found the simplest way for me was to take a 1" micrometer and set it to the desired gland clearance. Then I used the inside measuring side of a vernier caliper and locked it down to the dimension of the mic. I then used the caliper as my go - no go gauge. Seemed to work pretty well.

Thanks for the help everyone.
