Like these?

I have two sets.

These smooth centers came off of a 68 4000
I liked the looks of them better so I put them on my 69 4000

These have a came on my 69 4000
I'm going to spin them out a notch and put them on my 4500

I'd be just as well off with standard non adjust, once I set them to the thread width I want their never adjusted again.
It also hard to get power adjust to run true.

I have one set of each, 38's on a 5200 and 30's on a 5100. Not that many Ford's around my area so can't really say. But my 30's are the only set I personally know of around here. Greg NE

Hi Destroyed, i have had good luck getting the rims adjusted properly and true by jacking the tire off the ground and spinning them by hand.I find by hand you dont smack the rim against the stop blocks as hard. i get the rails
nice and greasey and make sure all bolts are nice and loose. You need two people to do it. Sometimes the tire doesnt want to move, then i start turning it a
notch the opposite way till all contact points are sitting in grease. My 2 cents worth ....John

Yes, smooth is early, they have nuts on each rail guide you loosen to spin the rim in or out, then tighten to lock it in place.

On the newer one you loosen the clamp bolts on the side of the center casting to loosen then tighten them to lock the rim.

The newer style are easier to adjust but as I said I like the looks of the older smooth style and once set I never adjust them again.

For me the only advantage is the power adjust have heavier cast centers which is like adding a couple of wheel weights to a standard steel centered non adjust wheel.
