Thrust bearing for the early NAA governor. Part #4 in this picture.
I don't have a local bearing house and don't have an intact example
even if I did. Every place I find them online has zero in stock.
Any suggestions other than replacing the governor with a later one?

Might try calling around to some New
Holland dealers with that part number, and
see if they can give you the cross number
for that bearing in timken or some such
brand.

I've done that a few times, then just take
the number into a driveline or bearing
shop.

I don't see a cross reference anywhere, if you have the dimensions good to McMaster.com and search for "Thrust ball bearings". If you can find one that fits it'll be a lot cheaper than from FIAT.

Royce? Do you need some measurements of that bearing? I have a complete governor here and could try to get some accurate measurements for you. Maybe it is just me but every engine I get into, the new style(roller on a ramp) gets replaced with the ball type governor. I know! Only the balls are available for replacement. But I'll take my chances .The complete ball type governor show up on eBay every once in a while.

If you have the measurements, that would be awesome Wayne!
Please don't go tear a tractor apart to get them though.
This one is on an engine stand and easy to get to at the moment.
The one I need to put it on will have to be disassembled.
Not as simple as pulling the governor off an N series tractor.

Royce. Had this one laying on the self. The internal diameter of the cage is 1 27/32" The outside diameter of the cage is 2 3/8" There are 16 balls and they are 3/16" in size. The diameter of the bearing race (track) appears to be 2 1/8" Hope this helps

Thank you Wayne, I'll see if my local parts place can match it up.
Unless you want to sell that one?

Hope you find a new bearing. I have a used later style(roller on a ramp) governor assy that's yours for shipping

Thank you Wayne. I'll get this one tore out and see if I can find the
bearing. If I can't, I would certainly be interested in your governor.
