Information on my tractor

Hello I just purchased some property and it came with a ford 2000 industrial tractor I am looking to find out the year if possible so I can better order parts to get it running, I found a date code behind the starter which reads 41301 with <>57708<> under it. Can anyone help please?

41301 indicates that's a 4000 industrial 4 speed built between late '62 and early '65. Of course, it is possible that your transmission is a transplant from one of those into what was originally a 2000.

Larry nailed it. In addition, 57708 would be a 1964 serial number.

Again, as Larry pointed out, those numbers only apply to the tractor that the transmission was in when it left the factory. Look on the engine block for raised casting numbers, which should start with C0NN6015 and end with a letter. That number, including the last number will tell us what exact engine it has. The 134 ci gas engine and 144 ci diesel engine were used in the 2000 series and the 172 ci gas and diesel engine was used in the 4000 series:

C0NN6015G - 134 gas engine used in 2000 series
C0NN6015H - 144 diesel engine used in 2000 series
C0NN6015C - 172 diesel engine used in 4000 series
C0NN6015J - 172 gas engine used in 4000 series
