A good customer of mine called this morning and said his TW 25 had developed a problem. It does fine in HI dual power but when he shifts it to low it locks up and kills the engine. Sounds like a planetary problem to me. Any comments or suggestions appreciated. I do not know if I will tear into this one or not. I really don't have the equipment to handle one that big.

Most likely your high range clutch pack is locked up and won't release, due to the fact that it has been slipping for some time and got really hot. Planetary failures are almost unheard of in Dual Power units.

Thanks Bern. I do not have any details at this time as to what happened or if it showed any signs of problems before. Will let you know if we decide to work on it.

Yea, my tw20 burst one of those short hydraulic lines, meatballs on each end and a short rubber in the middle.

Leaked out enough oil fast enough I drove to the end of the field and it locked up my Dual Power like that.

i agree with bern high range clutch discs are seized. probably be a good idea to do some pressure testing before tearing into it. had a guy tow one to the shop one time, had the engine running and his helper sitting in the cab holding the clutch pedal down. they had blown the fuse for the floor button so it defaulted to low, as soon as you let the pedal up it would stall the engine.
