Tractor would not crank. Went through the normal steps, bat ck OK, Alternator not charging, removed, carried for test, tested good. Then came to this web site and began to research "12V conversions".
"john in la" had a posting entered in Nov. 2004 with all the details. After reading through it, realized it might just be the fact that the "idiot light" had burned out a few weeks earlier. After much agony and with neighbors help finally installed a new "idiot light" and bingo, the alternator output is now 13 plus volts.
Many thanks to this web site and john in la I am mobile again.
