Ford 640 serial number

My serial number says 1 809 can anyone describe it to me. Thanks

I believe there's a digit missing between the 1 and the 8. If you can find it we may be able to tell you something. Without I'm guessing it could fall in any one of three years.

If you can't find it, some date codes off of components would be your next recourse.

They were stamped by hand, so it could be 1809 with a gap between the 1 and the 8. A 1809 serial number on a 640 would have been made in late 1954 for the 1955 model year.

So it's a 1955 model? Yes there is a gap
between the one and the eight.

Yes, 1955 model year but manufactured in 1954. Below is a page from the Ford 4 Cylinder Tractor 1953/64 Parts List. Notice that the model years for the 600 series is 55 - 57, no 54.

axle housings, transmission, engine, radiator. I wouldn't take it for granted that 1809 is correct. It may or may not be.
