Can anyone tell me the production date of my 4610SU?

Here is a picture of the model nameplate/sticker:

I am not up to date on these new a units. With 1988 enginnering number on tag and codes stamped in tag I would venture you have a 1993 made in June 28th afternoon shift

Not sure where that tag is located but it's not for a 4610
DF9Q1Z
DF9 = 555C industrial built 1988-1993
Q = have no idea,
1 = on pto
Z = 4x4 torque convertor trans

Build date 3F28B = Feb 28 1993 day shift

If this tag is on a 4610SU it's the wrong tag
4610SU's where built from 1981-1990
The model code should start with DS3

Check the numbers stamped into the top of the clutch housing just behind the starter.

A hood with a sticker for a 555C shouldn't even fit on a 4610 SU. The 4610SU had a 3 cylinder 201 and he 555C had a 4 cylinder engine so the hood should be too long to fit between the radiator shroud and the dash cowling.

That Q in the engine designator position I would guess might mean a Turbo diesel engine as a 1993 555C would have had a 256T.

I agree... also check the date codes on the various components, engine, transmission, rear axle, 3 point lift and pump (sticker says that there's no 3 point lift or pump because most, if not all, 555C's didn't have those, but a 4610SU should).

And post some pictures of the tractor if you can.

Dang, sorry for the huge picture in this thread, I figured the website would resize as needed.

When I bought the tractor in 2011, I was told it was an early 90's 4610 SU that was built and sold to a municipality for mowing. It had no lift arms when I went to look at it, and it had some home-made remote hydraulics on it for the mowing equipment. When I went to pick up the tractor the seller put on some lift arms, but they were for a 9N or something, so eventually I swapped some out from a 3910 parts tractor.

I seem to have issues at parts counters when I give them the tractor number.

The fitting for the fuel line from the dual filters to the injector pump cracked, I'm trying to order the correct fuel line from Messick's but there are two listed based on production date. I have the later prod. date line on order and hoping it is the correct one.

The odd thing about this tractor is it has 2 coats of yellow paint, the first coat a very bright lighter yellow, the second coat a darker yellow. Underneath those coats of paint I see a silver color on the engine block, and grey on the rims. The trans looks like it's yellow right over oxide primer. So not sure if this tractor is a mixed bag and was built by combining a few tractors.

From what I was told it was used in the Maryland parks dept.

Here are some pictures of the tractor:

Ok, so I'm an idiot.

I posted the wrong tag, the earlier picture is from my 1993 Ford 575D backhoe. And yes, those who said it does not belong on the 4610 are correct.

I'll have to get a better picture of the tag from my 4610, as the pictures I have are too blurry.

Yes the pics are a little blurry but I can make out enough to say it was built in 1988.

Model code DS314C
DS3 = 4610SU
1 = diesel engine
4 = 540 independent pto
C = 8x2 trans

Trans date code 8D11B
Trans was built April 11 1988 on day shift, the tractor would have been assembled sometime after that.
Usually within a few days to a month.

BB57 in the serial number is for a tractor built in 1988

8D19B Unit number says it was assembled on April 19 1988 during the day shift.

BB57269 Tractor Number (Serial Number) agrees that it's a 1988 tractor and the B at the beginning says it was built at the Basildon plant. I believe that all Ford ag tractors and their engines were being assembled at Basildon by that point and Antwerp and Romeo were used to assemble other major components, and possibly some of the industrial tractors.
