I need to replace the friction disc on my lift control quadrant but I can t get it off. I was going to use a puller but I can t find one
with thin enough jaws to get behind it, any suggestions.

ven if you did find puller, it would break anyway. Sometimes soak with penetrant and very mile heat (melt very easily), but I always buy new plate along with cork part.

I recently replaced the friction disk, following instructions found (see 'Dollar Bill's' reply to "Ford 600 Friction plate troubles in reply to britth, 04-29-2018 14:31:03") on the forums. To get the friction plate off, heat it slightly with a propane torch, then gently pry off with a screwdriver, alternating sides. It is aluminum and will expand at a different rate than the shaft, breaking any adhesion.
