Does anyone have a picture or can tell me how to rewire the instrument cluster? Mainly just the temp gauge so I can watch it in case it wants to run hot. Have a big bushhog job tomorrow. Thanks in advance

This is out of my 3000 manual but I believe they are the same.

The temp wire comes into the cluster directly behind the temp gauge as does the fuel level wire come in directlybehind the fuel gauge on the other
side. I just put in clusters in 2 tractors, a gen driven in a 3000 and a alt. driven one in a 3910....only difference is the tach zero is on opposite sides due
to the opposite drive mechanisms from the driving sources.

That should be correct. All the wires going to the proofmeter are housed in the harness loom with the exception of the wire leading to the fuel
sender and the fused power supply to the warning lamps.

OK quick question if I run from the sending unit for the temperature that screws into the block to the temperature gage on the cluster then from the fuel sending unit in the tank to the fuel gauge on the cluster then how do I power the cluster . I’m sorry I know these are dumb questions but I can’t figure this out

Power comes in 3 ways. Keyed power to the voltage stabilizer powers both gauges. Keyed power through the inline fuse powers the warning lamps. Power from the light switch powers the backlight lamps.

The ground wire can be anywhere around the edge of the printed ckt board....several tabs for connection. The power comes in on the right side
(sitting in the seat, right side) where there are 2 or 3 male tabs made to accept female plug spade terminals. If you note they are all part of the same
piece of metal. Some assys (depends on who makes them, work the same) have wires from the circuit cart coming over and connecting to that cluster
of terminals....that's your 12v distribution point.

If it's the original cluster it won't have a circuit board and the voltage stabilizer is on the left side of the cluster.

1 - temp sender wire
2 - power from voltage stabilizer terminal #7
3 - ground
4 - power from voltage stabilizer terminal #7
5 - fuel sender wire
6 - keyed power to the voltage stabilizer
7 - power to the gauges, temp and fuel gauge wires connect here,
DO NOT connect temp or fuel sender wires to the voltage stabilizer

Some aftermarket clusters show wires to terminals #4 and #5 reversed.
