Anyone need an 801 SOS transmission?

My pal Kenny just replaced an SOS and rear end with a 5 speed for a guy. SOS input shaft and torque limiter clutch failed but the rest of the tranny worked fine.
Scrap price. Twin Cities, MN

How are the cables? I have spares for myself but I bet that SOS owners will really be more interested in those than the rest.

I read somewhere that someone has new input shafts available. They didn't say if they were NOS or new, custom made, or what. I'll try to find that info again.

Fordfarmer, you weren't thinking of John Smith's shaft repair were you?

It was on Facebook... once I remembered that, it was easy - the Ford Select-O-Speed Group. One of the members said he has some input shafts.

New to the forum. Just looked at a 71-72? 4500 with a SOS. The tractor won't move on it's own, so no idea yet. How would I be able to tell if this would fit? Just started researching the Ford 4500 and SOS, so don't know a lot about it yet.
Thanks!

(quoted from post at 16:59:09 07/08/18) No. This was on another site, and new shafts, not
repaired. I just hope I can find it again.

If the splines are gone on the input shaft, chances are they are bad on the torque limiting clutch as well. Are there new TLC's available?

New TLCs are still available from CNH, or were so the last time I checked, but input shafts have not been available for 10-15 years.

"...if this would fit..." Do you mean the Select-O-Speed from the 801? No, it won't fit your tractor. Ford completely redesigned
the whole line for '65...basically nothing swaps from the older to the newer series. They still had SOS transmissions, but with a
different housing.

That's what I meant. Thank you. I will start a new thread once I get it. Price is right. Thanks again!
