Had a nasty leak this morning off the street elbow on my loader cylinder. What a mess! So the manual says to tighten the teflon nut to seal any leak on the street elbow. This thing was really shooting a large amount of oil from where indicated on the pic. Is there supposed to be a teflon washer of some type under that nut or can I just teflon tape about 4 or 5 wraps on the threads to seal it up? Or is there a replacement nut and sealing washer available? For that matter, is that nut really necessary? Wouldn't be the same just teflon taping the 3/8" elbow threads and screwing it in securely? Only reason I could see it for the nut is for positioning the elbow and tightening it down to lock it in place.
