2810 cav injector pump

Can the cav pump on my 2810 be turned up to gain some power? If so can someone give me some direction. Not wanting to pull or anything, would just like to have a little more power when bush hogging in thick stuff.
I really like this tractor, but seems under powered.
 
The 2810 only has the 158 ci engine, which was the smallest/weakest of any engine that they used with that heavier double reduction rear axle, so I am not surprised that you feel it is under powered. I don't know if you can turn up the pump any on it, but I am sure that others on here would be able to help you with that, but I doubt that you'll get much more than 4 or 5 more hp out of it if you do.
 
Thanks Sean, yep don't know what ford was thinking when they grossly under powered these tractors. I really like
everything about the tractor except the lack of power.
 
The simple answer is YES..
But its harder to do on the tractor, than Chinese arithmetic.
& you stand a chance of washing down a cylinder.
There are videos on it, but I wouldn't trust'm for the full info..
I would just take care of what ya got..
Change the fuel filters, clean the screen in the tank outlet,
get the injectors overhauled w/ new tips..
AND WHEN the throttle starts to leak & you take it off to be repaired,
tell'm to turn it up 10%..

The suggestion to turn it up 10% if and when it goes to a pump shop is the safest option. Doing that without a test stand or a dyno is not a good idea. The reality is that on the 158 engine, even with a 10% boost in delivery.. it's only going to give you another 3-4 hp anyway which will hardly be appreciable.
